Queen’s first 15 studio albums are getting the deluxe vinyl treatment. On Thursday, the band’s official Web site announced the upcoming release of The Studio Collection Special Edition vinyl box set, slated to be released on Sept. 25. Mastered by Bob Ludwig from the original source tapes, each of the 15 albums is pressed on heavyweight 180-gram colored vinyl—Innuendo and Made in Heaven will be 2-LP sets since they had longer running times in their CD incarnations. (The vinyl albums will also be available individually). The box also contains a 108-page hardcover book with photos and notes. Coinciding with the release of the box will be a Rega customized turntable, Queen by Rega, featuring the classic Queen crest on the platter.
