Guitarist Paul Brown's breezy music is the type you've probably heard many times in the dentist's office, at the bank, or even in the elevator. Essentially, it's smooth jazz full of mellow moods ("Cosmic Monkey," the Latinesque "The City", featuring the guitarist's vocals) and swing (the toe-tapping Side Steppin'), but nothing more. Brown's guitar playing is very fluid as you can hear in his finger work. Certainly it is the type of approach that draws the ire of staunch jazz traditionalists, but for those wanting purely uncomplicated lush and relaxing sounds; Brown executes those with taste and professionalism, but none of the spontaniety.
